Technology of explosive welding
      Although the phenomenon of explosive welding was to table a proposal by Cail as early as in 1944, huge development potential of the welding technique in industrial field had discovered only by Pearson in United States until 1965. Immediately after, the huge effect of this technology in the welding field was validated and confirmed by Philip chuk in 1957.
 
      Later on, through continuous research, applications and development, the techniques of explosive welding tend to consummation gradually, and become a kind of indispensable technology for developing new type of metal materials.
 
      It was not until 1960 that the explosive welding technology was exploited in china and had been developed fully with large application in the manufacturing industry from 1962. between that and now, it has developed some dozens of metal clad material such as Titanium alloys¨C steel ,stainless steel- steel , Copper alloys - steel , Aluminum alloys - steel , Tool steel - steel , Nickel steel ¨C steel and others. These metal clad materials with excellent function and low price have been widely applied in chemical, metallurgy, electricity, shipbuilding and aerospace industries.
 
      Generally speaking, the 1960¡¯s are the key period that the explosive welding technology comes into consummation, theories research is deeply, and metal clad material starts acquire acknowledgement in industrial society
The basis of theories about explosive welding is to make use of explosives as energy, the impact wave, being produced by the explosive detonated on the surface of clad metal, propels it to collide the base metal at an angle. In this process, the high temperature and pressure metallic jet came in to being instantly in the interface of the two pieces of metals pre-joined and plasticity deformation occurred seriously, so that the two pieces of different function metal are atomically bonded dentelated. The invention of this technology not only solves the problems of certain metallic combination welding, but also increases the welding efficiency. It save the rare metals and meet the peoples needs of the new functional materials.
